Ringling Brothers circus

I took off a day from teaching my preschool class to attend Faith's field trip to the circus. Neither one of us had ever been so it was nice to spend a day together. The circus comes to town and they claim it is the Greatest Show on Earth. My heart skipped beats all throughout this show because it was so exhilarating. Can I describe it? Show stopping. Faith's response was as follows. Mouth open and say ahhh. It was too cute. We enjoyed the elephants, tight rope walkers, leaping and growling tigers, and dancing on the ceiling just to name a few. The lady who was shot out of the cannon was too loud she said. She covered her ears. When the confetti fell from the sky for the finale, she was in love with the circus; the greatest show on Earth.

A happy party indeed

So I am a week late but better late than never. Faith had a wonderful party for her birthday complete with 9 friends including her cousin from IL. The weather was beautfiful and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. All the girls enjoyed music and dancing, balloons, games and even some much needed cake and ice cream. Faith's cake was decorated all out with fairies and a river with lilly pads. The fairies stood on the lilly pads and floated down the river. It even had edible grass lining the river. WOW! We played pass the fairy wand, fairy freeze dance, Queen Fairy says, and balloon keep up. The song of the day was Phineas and Ferb's version of Gichee gichee goo means that I love you. What a day. Faith loved being pushed on the porch swing by her teacher and even had a rainbow painted on her face. Could it have been any more perfect? Not even if we tried. Happy birthday Faith.

New Scrapblog

I made a 4 year collage of Faith for her birthday tomorrow so everyone can see how much she has grown and changed these four years. Check it out to the left under "New Scrapblogs" column. I can't believe she is turning four. Her little self speaks like she is ten but other parts of her are just so little and precious. At four years old she loves coloring, art, playing on the playground, tag, 3 Little Pigs, reading (both on her own and from other people) and dancing. Her fairy party is this Saturday. 10 little fairy princesses in our little house should be exciting but it should be a blast complete with music, face painting, dancing, art, a fairy cake and lots of presents. Can't wait and I don't think that she can either. Anyways, check out her scrapblog.

353, 354, 355

I turned some relaxing Jazz music on last night and not thinking that Faith would settle down for the evening she put down her leggos that she was making swords with and picked up her gigantic fairy tale book. As I settled in with Champ for the evening in the rocking chair to feed him, she cuddled up on the couch with her book. As 10 and 15 minutes passed she was still content looking at her book page by page studying each picture that she encountered. When I finally put Champ to his bed and joined her she had intently looked at 355 pages of her book. Page by page, picture by picture until I asked her if she would like me to read to her. Did this love of hers come from us reading to her since she was little or was she just born with it? I don't like reading grown up books but give me a child's book and I am all set.
