I can't believe that summer is one week from being over. I can't believe that Faith is on her way to Kindergarten. Summer has brought many new and exciting things. Faith has learned to read a lot better. She is confident in sound out words that follow simple rules that she knows.
Last weekend we took a trip to Ocean City, MD. It was a great trip despite the tired and sick baby that came along also by the name of Champ. Faith loved the sand; not so much the ocean because of the waves and salt water. She loved the hotel that we stayed at even more. Hilton Oceanfront had an awesome swimming pool that was very kid friendly. She could go down all the slides by herself which made her very confident to leave mommy and daddy's side and just have fun.
Monday I took the day off and just us girls went and spent the day together. We enjoyed a cucumber at a local food market followed by a morning in a secret garden at the Oatwood Plantation. What a beautiful place. We hid among the statues and flowers, pretended we were in a Fairy Realm with trolls on the other side of the hedge and climbed a big tree with branches to the ground. So much fun and a perfect way to end the summer.
But summer is not over for another week and a half. All my family is set to arrive for my birthday next weekend. How fun to have everyone here in the house. So as we get ready to say goodbye to summer and hello to a new school year, I say it was a great summer filled with lots of happenings.
