Down and out
Faith has been blessed with the flu for the first time this season. What comes around goes around. Andma had it and is now recovering. Her teacher had it and went home yesterday. Lord oh Lord can this be the last occurence in our house for the season? What does a flu shot do anyways. Evidently not protect from the flu. Just a fun way for chidlren to have mist sprayed into their noses and get a popsicle. I am grateful that after the episodes last night at 1130 of the visit to the potty, she was able to sleep the remainder of the night. Home today from school. Too much snow to go anywhere anyways. First storm of the season dropped 5 inches or so.

Little gymnaste
Faith loves gymnastics class. She is attending twice a week. Once in a small class and once in a big class. She can now do the following tricks; forward roll, straddle roll, backward roll, handstand, cartwheel, running cartwheel, roundoff. She is working hard on getting her handstand fall to bridge but continues to need help keeping off her head. Maybe with a little more muscle building. We went to see our local gym's Level 6,8, and 9 gymnasts complete. Faith really enjoyed the optional routines. The compulsory routines were not too interesting. We enjoyed some pizza, chips, and a rice crispy treat. We had fun. Faith was so exhausted she crashed fast asleep on the way home. She is a mini me from head to toe.

Once upon a time
Faith and I purchased a do it yourself fairy tale book today. It is pretty cool. She is give 6 pages of themed stickers along with a forty paged blank canvas 12X12 book to place them in. The goal at hand is to place the stickers in the book to look like a story. She has chosen to not write in the story due to the fact that after writing occurs the book can not be changed. So in order for her to keep making up a story each time, she has chosen to leave the pages without words. She read the 6 page story to Andma tonight. She made it a scarey story. Then when I came to listen she made it pleasant. I do have to say that if she completes the task at hand she will have a very nice fairy tale book to look at for years to come.

Faith the veternarian
Faith has become a doctor, an animal doctor that it. Her aunt sent her a huge lion to sit on and ride on for Christmas. Upon arrival I thought, "Great, another huge animal that I have to deal with. Takes up too much room and no one will ever play with this." I was wrong. A few weeks ago I encouraged my mom to encourage Faith to take care of this lion. So using the stethoscope, otoscope, cell phone, blood pressure cuff, and a view finder for a pretend xray camera, she checks the lion from head to toe and discovers he has a temperature and broken bones. She calls the emergency room and asks if they can see him. They say yes so she brings him in right a way. She does not forget to tell them he needs to be a priority. So since this initial checkup she has been doing follow up appointments with him and has determined he is getting better but not fully healed. Her expertise has rubbed off on Champ also as he began to observe her and do what she did. He also checked him out tonight with the stethoscope. I hope Senor Leon gets better so he can go into his den of a closet.

2011
Is is really happy new year? Did yet another year pass by? Is it really time to start thinking of Faith's next birthday? I know time flies but sometimes I wish I could pull it by the reigns and say slow down. Sometimes life is the bull and I am trying to hold on for dear life. Ever feel that way? 2011 brings many changes here for the onehappylittlefamily. One at a time we will see the months dwindle away into new opportunities. This is the year that Faith moves to 1st grade. This is the year that Motown may come back into our lives. This is the year we see our family more. This is the year that I begin to work on myself. So many obstacles to hurdle over. But this year we will come together for many changes. 2011, we are here so make way!!
