The fiesta

Faith had her five year old fiesta for her birthday last Saturday. What I thought was going to be a smooth party turned into a bundle of overly excited five and six year olds who decided to bring their siblings. So I'm scrambling to make sure that all the kids get a goody bag and then cake and ice cream. Faith had a blast. It was a Dora theme. Not that she likes Dora but she said that Champ would have fun because he loves Dora. We played a pass the backpack game and then used our maps on a short walk about the outside barn and backyard. The kids found prizes at each station and followed map back to the house where cupcakes and more fun awaited; this time outside. Faith received some dolls none of which she will play with but it was a nice thought. Her favorite gift has been a Crayola Color Explosion art packet. She colors on it each morning and night. She loves it. It came from her teacher which shows that she knows best. She also loved her new umbrella and raincoat. She wears her raincoat each day even if it is not raining. I would have loved to see and played with Faith more so after this year I have realized that I will no longer take the lead on a party that has any more than four or five friends. Parties are done at our house and will be moved somewhere else from now on. It has become too much with another child three years younger. So Happy birthday Faith. Another year older and another year wiser.
