We're back too

Back to the 21st century as far as internet goes. I didn't realize how much of my life is dependent on the internet. It is like my haven to escape and write. So I know everyone has been waiting on some pictures of this beautiful place. Well here they are. These were all taken as the sun was setting over Bull Run mountain. We took a walk to the horse pasture and climbed on the fence and just hung out. I love that about here.
Faith is doing well. She is singing singing and singing these days. I caught her singing her ABC's the other morning while still in bed with the lights off. Another evening she did her rendition of her class welcome song. However instead of the children's names she used various objects names that were within her view. These included but were not limited to the couch, shoes, toothbrush, Lamby, Andma, Pa Pa, her bear, Mickey, herself, me, Bud and her car. When I spoke with her teacher about it she said, "well she has the first half of the song right." Then she told me the second half which dealt with locations (beside, in front of, behind, etc.) No, Faith had that down she just took it a step further and spoke of such things like who is sucking on the toothbrush, who is in the closet, who is in Illinois, etc.
Her new class is going well. She is adjusting with the 3 year olds. She now tells me that she is not lonely anymore. She has friends. As of Sept. 2 there will be 14 children enrolled in green room. Not to be confused with 14 attending each day. She enjoys the activities and I enjoy hearing about them each day.
We are getting over colds here. Faith's is still lingering at night but mine has subsided. I guess it is just that time of year when the weather changes enough at night to make the air cool in the morning.
She is starting to test everyone's patience. "Patience" that is the word that coincidently was the topic of discussion at church last week. Maybe that was a good choice.
We are looking forward to the coming weeks when Andma and Pa Pa will be here. I think that they have no idea what they are getting themselves into when they see Faith. She has changed just so much since May. The other day she saw something run across the porch. Then I asked her what it was. She said, "probably it was a lizard." Probably....that is the word of choice lately. She puts things into wonderful understandable text and sometimes I just sit back and think, how old are you? She asks questions galore now. Sometimes she knows the answers but she just asks to ask.
We visited the FireStation this morning. I was having a hard time explaining the difference between the utility vehicles she sees each day and the fire trucks. Both have ladders and both have lights on top. So a visit to the station was the only thing that could clarify for her. She is learning the names of the construction vehicles as they are widening HWY 15. She knows backhoe, roller, crane, dumptruck, semi, bulldozer, yellow/orange-slow down, caution. She knows when we cross HWY 66. For she tells me the name of it only to follow that with her address. A smart little girl. I realize just how different she is each day that I am around children her age. I see these 5 piece puzzles at school that are hard for the children and then I see her whip through 9 piece puzzles just like that. Never seen the puzzle before, just takes it apart and puts it together.
She has learned to recognize the letters in her name and name them. She has learned to recognize her name written along with daddy and mommy and their letters. She now enjoys the Rebus books that substitute pictures for words. She feels like she reads along too. I could go on and on about all the things that she is doing however you just have to see it to believe it. It is story time here so off I go.
